About One Square More

We publish one kind of book, and we try to publish it properly: mosaic color-by-number activity books where the picture stays hidden until you colour it.

Why the name

Because it is what everyone says. You sit down intending to fill in a few squares before bed, the image starts resolving, and you tell yourself you will stop after one square more. Forty minutes later the lion is finished.

What we make

Every One Square More title follows the same specification. Paperback, 8.5 x 11 inches. Single-sided pages, so nothing bleeds through and any finished design can be removed and framed. A numbered colour key printed on every page, so you never need a separate reference sheet. Palettes built around an ordinary 24-colour pencil set rather than an art-supply shopping list.

Inside that specification we range widely: wildlife, ocean scenes, florals, seasonal titles, fantasy and the retro Black Edition line.

How we choose designs

A mosaic only works if the subject reads clearly at low resolution. A lion's face does. A crowded street scene does not. Every design is tested as a grid before it becomes a page, and anything that stays ambiguous when half-coloured gets cut. That is why the catalog leans toward animals, single objects and strong silhouettes.
